This issue, we are talking about time-saving products. BB Creams are well-documented multi-taskers. Serving as a primer, moisturiser and foundation in one. Despite its acronym standing for blemish balm/base, it doesn’t actually function as a spot-treatment. Go figure! While I am a believer in a stand-alone moisturiser and a fan of traditional liquid foundations (applied with a light hand of course), there is no doubt that a good BB cream is a kit essential. Perfect for a bit time-saving application for when you’re being shouted at by the AD to get your cast through the works because they’ve pulled the shooting schedule forward to accommodate some other departments time-schedule. Or, just for those lucky lot with great skin who only need a light application of colour to even out their skin tones. It’s also the ideal consumer product really, as it ensures that you don’t leave the house plastered in thick, unflattering foundation, which is all too often badly blended. Oh yes, and it saves you time in the morning so you can be more gluttonous with your snooze time. It’s a buildable product, so you are able to achieve perfect skin for both day and night-time wear…saving you money too.
While the range doesn’t stretch the full skin colour spectrum, it does deliver six shades and we can only hope that the range gets extended sooner rather than later, as the formulation is flawless and everyone should have the opportunity to wear it.
If you have very dry skin, or winter is simply getting the better of you, don’t skip your regular moisturiser before applying the BB cream.
