Oh, how I do love me some serendipity! GLOSSWORKS have just launched their new Autumn/Winter collection, aptly (for my purposes) named Dark Side of the Moon. The new collection sees four new shades in delicious rich colours; Moon Dust, Sea of Tranquility,Dark Side of the Moon and Lunar Light. Of course, we cannot pretend that nail polish is untainted, however, if we are going to wear nail polish…and let’s face it, we all still do, it better be free from the most toxic, noxious and dark substances!
I have been using GLOSSWORKS for quite some time now. All their nail polishes are 9-free (again, serendipity at play with it being our ninth issue and all!) meaning the nine most harmful ingredients often found in the tainted alternatives have been left out of the formulation altogether.
While I have not tried any of the new collection, due to making the conscious decision not to call in product that is likely to go to waste. Seeing as I already have far too many nail polishes in my pro-kit that I’m already struggling to get through – and my personal wearing of nail polish doesn’t extend beyond me applying it at the most inappropriate times (as a blatant form of procrastination), I thought it would be irresponsible to add these deliciously dark, dreamy colours to my collection.
However, the reason I feel compelled to feature them on the virtual pages of untainted is that I have been very impressed with the other GLOSSWORKS polishes. And just because I’m not in the market for more, doesn’t mean you aren’t.
I will say that without the base and topcoat, the polish does chip after a few hours or a round of dishes. However, that is to be expected – it being free from resin and all.
Price-wise, these beauties are some of the most affordable on the market, taking their closets counterparts into consideration.
If you’re like me and prefer to have as few as products as possible that do as many jobs as possible, you can try their 3-in-1 base, hardener and topcoat. I also recommend that you wear your nail polish as you would your lipstick… to match or accompany an outfit – but that you take it off asap too.
