Product Review: AiNSEL Slip Dress

issue eight : animal instincts

Haven’t heard of AiNSEL yet? What piece of dead coral have you been buried under? If you have been reading UNTAINTED since the beginning, you are sure to have come across this ultra-cool e-commerce beauty brand hailing from London. They put cruelty-free and sustainability front and centre, and yet, they have managed to avoid the ‘worthy’ package appeal. Basically, their product and packaging is cool a.f and filled with (mostly) natural ingredients.

I recently used their Slip Dress lipstick in our Coral Is Dying editorial as a visual clue to the potential long-term impact Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019; Living Coral is going to have on very thing it’s inspired by - through the impact fashion has on climate change.

This ingenious white lipstick starts off translucent and builds to medium density white, with a slight sparkle to avoid any deathly parlour. It’s also somewhat of a chameleon…changing and adapting when it interacts with other lipsticks…or rather, it alters them.

While not the most practical lipstick for everyday wear, it’s a definite must for makeup artists - or bold lipstick lovers looking for a little adaptability with the lipsticks they already own.

When used as a base colour for another lipstick, it adds depth and dimension to the colour on top.
