Herbivore Moon Fruit Night Treatment

issue nine : here comes the night

I promised you that this issue would bring you skin care that was so easy, you could do it in your sleep. What can I tell you, other than I have delivered. Technically it’s the Seattle-based, Instagram-worthy brand Herbivore Botanicals that have done all the “heavy lifting” with their Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment.

It delivers on its “other worldly” and “multi-tasking” promises. First, by gently resurfacing the skin using skin-friendly fruit enzymes from papaya, oranges and lemons. Next, Shea butter, Kokum butter and Hyaluronic Acid work together to nourish and hydrate the skin. Lastly, with the help of the powerful anti-oxidants from superfruits; prickly pear, goji berry and red raspberry…all your skin’s dreams will be answered.

It sits beautifully under makeup too, providing a soft matte finish to the skin. But… like a good night time product, it’s loaded with photo-sensitive enzymes and AHA’s that can cause sensitivity and pigmentation to the skin if it’s exposed to UV light. So be sure that if you do wear it during the day, that you cover up with an equally untainted SPF.

Although, personally, I prefer to keep its vampirish appeal. Besides, it’s beautiful rich lavender colour and accompanying scent are quintessential to a night time beauty routine.

All Herbivore’s packing is reusable and recyclable. You can remove the label from the glass jar once you’ve finished the product to ensure it looks appropriate in any situation. I love putting jewellery in them.

TipS

Warm a generous(ish) dollop product in your hand to melt the butters before massaging it into to freshly cleansed skin on your face and neck. Follow with an oil serum to lock in all that super fruit goodness.

If you are going to use it under makeup, first damped your skin with a light misting of botanical water and apply a pea sized amount. Less is more here!
